Port Gregory became our home for a week, we set up our camper trailer and enjoyed a peaceful stay at the Caravan Park. As soon as we arrived we were made to feel welcome. The owners were away and they had someone looking after the park. The caretakers were extremely helpful and always around the park checking things were running smoothly.Read More »
Billy Goat Bay Nature Based Campground, Western Australia
Billy Goat Bay is a pristine beach with white sand and crystal clear blue water. We visited the bay during the school holidays and I was stunned that we were the only ones on the beach, there was not another sole in site.
The bay curves for about a kilometre with views of Lipfert Island and Orton Rock. The water was very calm and there is a shallow reef which looks perfect for snorkelling.Read More »

Nature Inspired Children’s Books

I have read to my children since the day they were born. Now they are a little bit older they have a real love of books. We enjoy snuggling on the old rocking chair in the corner of the lounge room, reading books with the sun streaming through the window. It is a time I cherish as I feel really connected to my children.
Our house is full of children’s books, the bookshelf is over following. There are so many books to choose from however my little ones are always drawn to books about nature.Read More »

Farm Life
On our recent trip back to my home town we were lucky enough to house sit on a farm. The lure of an old farm house, wide open spaces, a warm cosy fire to sit by was too much to pass up. In return we had to feed a few animals which gave the children great joy.
Turning onto the dirt road and seeing a cloud of red dust in the review mirror made me feel at ease. A reminder of the country life I had left behind.Read More »
Dalwallinu and Petrudor Rocks
Dalwallinu will always be my home. It is the place I grew up, where 4 generations have lived. This is the longest I have been away from my home and I had a strong urge to return to my roots. Show my children what country life is like.
Dalwallinu is located 252 kilometres north east of Perth, a place of wheat and wattle. A wheat and sheep farming town but also known for it’s wildflowers. From July to October the country side bursts into bloom with a large variety of wildflowers.
