I feel like the year has gone in the blink of an eye and nothing much has happened. I have just been surviving raising two little ones and dealing with the strain of every day life, changing nappies, temper tantrums and never ended sickness.
Now that I sit down and really think about it we have had a great year and so much has happened.Read More »
So I have a confession to make. I like to knit!! Many people have there own ways to de-stress like yoga, meditation or the new fad of colouring in. For me I can’t really get into these activities but knitting helps me relax and I get a finished product at the end.
The most stressful thing about knitting is that you may spend hours making something and then not be real happy with the pattern or the way it looks. These are some of my favourite patterns that have been trialed and tests and are great for camping.
Click on the pattern name and it will take you to the pattern, some are free and others you need to a pay a few dollars for.Read More »
Around half of us will experience mental health problems at some point of our lives. This figure is staggering and I know that so many people still suffer in silence and don’t seek the help they need.

Sandy Cape Recreational Park just north of Jurien Bay (223 kms north of Perth) was a spot that farmers often camped at and the land was used by squatters. In the 1920’s they erected makeshift shacks but in 2002 the shacks were removed and Sandy Cape became a Recreational Camping Area opening in December 2004. It is now a very popular camping area and we often spend time camping here.Read More »

We are always heading off on little adventures with our two children and this means we are often not home at nap time. The children often slept in the sling or pram but now Master B is older and much more aware it makes it harder to get him to sleep while we are on the move.Read More »
I still like to keep up my fitness routine while we are on holiday so on our recent camping trip to Sandy Cape Recreational Park I was making use of the area.
Swim to Rotto is a 19.7km ocean race and it is an event that I am training for. Most of my training has been in the pool so I made the use of the bay and fitted in plenty of swimming training. Dealing with the currents proves to be a bit of a challenge so it was good to get some ocean training in.
In Australia we are spoiled for choice of pristine beaches and especially here on the West Coast! During my travels it has been hard to find beaches that measure up to our beautiful coastline.
I love being near the water whether it is swimming, snorkeling, being on a boat or having a game of beach cricket. It gives me a sense of calm and clarity. So it is only natural that when I travel I often find myself by the ocean.Read More »
We were at a bit of a loose end one Sunday afternoon so I decided it was time to try Geocaching. What is Geocaching I hear you ask? It is an outdoor treasure hunting game using a GPS. You need to navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache hidden at that location.
Geocaches can be found all over the world and the locations can be quite diverse. They may be located at your local park, at the end of a long hike, underwater or on the side of a city street.Read More »
