Perth is having glorious Autumn weather and we are soaking up the suns rays, heading to the beach every chance we get. Making the most of the weather before it changes.

Summer holidays are in full swing and to tell you the truth I was dreading it! Worried about how I would entertain my two little children without Kindy and our usual activities. To my surprise I have been enjoying these school holiday. There is no need to rush around in the morning, the mornings are now calm. We have been spending lots of time at the beach swimming and pottering around the house.
Spending lots of time at home means we have been doing lots of craft, making and creating. My daughter JJ and I have been experimenting with a Sunprint Kit.

Growing up in the country I loved the wide open spaces and strong community spirit. As a child I had freedom to roam, take risks and learn about life for myself.Read More »
As soon as I am outdoor and in nature I can feel my body relax, especially the tension I am carrying in my shoulders. I didn’t even realise how tense I am until I get outdoors. When you have small children, getting outdoors, going into nature and walking can do you the world of good. The fresh air, listening to the birds and a dose of D is good for the soul.
Attempting a bush walk with a pram can often by difficult if you don’t know where to go. So many times I have had to do a bit of 4wd with the pram as I have gone down a path that was not suitable.Read More »
How often can you let the children play in nature while you take some time out for yourself to relax and have a bowen bodywork? That is right the children were off exploring in the bush, using their senses, having a great time and I was also enjoying myself.Read More »
I have read to my children since the day they were born. Now they are a little bit older they have a real love of books. We enjoy snuggling on the old rocking chair in the corner of the lounge room, reading books with the sun streaming through the window. It is a time I cherish as I feel really connected to my children.
Our house is full of children’s books, the bookshelf is over following. There are so many books to choose from however my little ones are always drawn to books about nature.Read More »
Continually I am hearing that Australian children are not exercising enough and not spending enough time outdoors. No more than two hours of screen time a day is recommended however only a third of our children are meeting this recommendation. Children who spend more time outside tend to be more physically active and less likely to be overweight.Read More »
As soon as this book Hello Nature arrived in the mail JJ was off with the book under arm and a magnifying glass in her hand. In search of bugs, spiders, plants and anything else she could find in our backyard. For the past few weeks she has been obsessed with the book and wanting to go on bush walks or to the beach to look for items in her book.Read More »

The bush had been calling me. Sick of being stuck in the suburbs, stuck inside our four walls as the kids have been sick. I needed to get out and get in touch with nature. I didn’t want the kids complaining about it being too far to walk, I am hungry and everything else that goes along with it. So I came up with a plan to make it fun for them.Read More »
