Botanical Gardens in Perth

Peppa and George Pig have become an obsession in our house hold and I needed to drag the kids out before I turned them cartoon pigs into bacon! Due to illness the kids have been watching too much TV lately but no more we are getting out and enjoying this gorgeous spring weather.

Spring is simply stunning in Perth with the warm weather and gorgeous flowers in bloom. During the month of September Kings Park has a Beauty Rich and Rare Festival and at Araluen Botanic Park it is ablaze with colour from the tulips.Read More »

Swim to Rotto

My stomach is in knots and I feel incredibly nervous about what lurks beneath the ocean and my fitness. I have done something crazy, I have committed to doing swim to Rotto (19.7km ocean swim) with my friend Kate.

I have done this event in a team of four twice before but now I am going to really challenge myself. The swim has become so popular that you are not guaranteed a spot in the race and selected on a ballot system. Fingers crossed we are selected, just not sure how my nerves will hold up!Read More »

The colours of Western Australia

The winter months have not been kind to us as we have caught every stomach bug, cold and flu that is going around. Now that spring is here I feel positive that the year is going to end on a bright note.

Driving in the hills was magical seeing so many bright colours in the bush as the wildflowers are in season. The birds are singing their songs and the native animals are out enjoying the sun. Makes me feel like a change is coming.

I am noticing the beauty around me and want to share with you the beautiful colours of Western Australia.

Will my baby sleep? This is the main thing on my mind when we go on holidays or a for a sleep over. Over the years I have always used portacots and my children have not slept well, lets face it they are like sleeping on a blank of wood! That was until I discovered The Sleepovers padded fitted sheet which is one of my essential items I take when we go camping. The wheatbelt feels like home

Being in the wheatbelt gives me an overwhelming sense of calm. I love the red dirt, wide open spaces, the stillness, a strong community and the gazillion stars that fill the night sky. It feels like I have come home.

Living in the city I miss being part of such a close knit community, it is refreshing to go down the main street and people are friendly and genuinely interested in how you are. People are not caught up in their own little world and they all seem so much more relaxed and content.

The Drive

This time of year is a great time to visit the wheatbelt as the paddocks are full of colour. The crops of wheat are looking very healthy with the recent rain and the canola provides a vibrant yellow that rolls across the paddocks. On the side of the road you see many pops of colour as the wildflowers are starting to bloom.
