Mount Barker is a place I have been visiting for 40 years. A place where my Grandfather farmed and generations before and after him still farm the land. It feels like home.
When you mention Mt Barker to Perth folk they usually say that is where the chickens live! Sorry to disappoint but you will not find free range chickens roaming the street or popping into the pub like the TV ad.

Finally I decided to splurge and spend the money. I purchased a Nikon D3400 but my new toy was soon hijacked by Dixie on our recent camping trip!

I channeled my inner cowgirl and headed off for a weekend of red dirt and rodeo watching!
Mullewa is usually a quiet town located 450 kilometres north of Perth. However when the annual Muster and Rodeo is on it attracts thousands of people to the town. Many of the contestants are from interstate and there were even a number of overseas competitors. All putting their skills to the test to win some prize money by competing in various events over the weekend.Read More »
Perth has been putting on a show with its glorious Autumn weather. We even hit the beach, kayaked and swam. It is amazing how your mood lifts as soon as your feet hit the sand. You feel relaxed as soon as you breathe the salty air deep into your lungs.
