Around half of us will experience mental health problems at some point of our lives. This figure is staggering and I know that so many people still suffer in silence and don’t seek the help they need.
Good mental health is as important as good physical health and both can be helped by living a healthy lifestyle. Here are some points to help you improve your mental health as per SANE Australia.
- Ensure you get enough sleep
- Eat healthy
- Try and keep stress to a reasonable level
- Relax regularly
- Take part in physical exercise
- Keep alcohol consumption to recommended safe limits
- Stay in touch with family and friends
Personally I know that after I exercise my mood is lifted due to the natural chemicals in the brain. Exercise helps me to sleep better, increases my energy levels and distracts me from my daily worries.
Combining physical activity with a balanced diet to nourish your body and mind can keep you feeling good inside and out.
‘The Bikini Cookbook’ Fundraiser
I have teamed up with The Bikini Cookbook and for every book you buy $4 will be donated to SANE Australia. These books are designed to take the hard work out of calorie counting by counting for you. The recipes are all 300 calories or under and they are delicious!
The author Michelle Floate is a Naturopath and Perth author who lost 18kg in 5 months with these recipes. Now she has thousands of fans who are enjoying the recipes and having weight loss success.
There are 8 books in the collection, the bikini cookbooks 1-4 are soft cover, original set. Snack Italy, Comfort Foods and Asia are hard covers and have symbols for gluten free, dairy free and cooking times.
If you order a Bikini Cookbook by 20 December 2015 and write Anne’s fundraiser in the shipping notes then $4 will be donated to help this great cause. (This does not include the e-book). Click here to order a copy of ‘The Bikini Cookbook’

Everyday Hero Fundraiser
Currently I am in training for Swim to Rotto as a duo, a 19.7km open water swim and I have set up an Everyday Hero Fundraising Page. So if you are not interested in buying a cookbook but would still like to donate you can do so here.
SANE Australia
If you would like to know more about this organisation or feel that you need help with Mental Illness then please have a look at their website which can be found here and they also have a helpline available.
Take care of yourself and make your happiness a priority.
Maybe the bikinis on the front might encourage the man in your house to pick it up and be inspired to cook 😉 In the meantime good luck with the fundraiser.
