Hi there!
I have just signed up for Laps for Life and I would love your support.
This March I will swim 30kms to raise money, awareness and change the stigma around mental health.
Sadly family and close friends have been touched by the devastating and hollowing effects of suicide. That is why I am putting on my cap, goggles and making a splash to help young Aussies experiencing mental health issues.
Did you know that suicide is the leading cause of death for young people in Australia? That means each year, more young people die by suicide than in car accidents or from cancer.
To be honest I had no idea that Australia’s suicide rates are so high.
After the recent loss of a friend, I want to do my part. I want to make a difference and let people know that there is help available.
How it works
Anyone can fundraise and take part in Laps for Life. You simply sign up as an individual or with a group. Set your goal, the distance you want to swim. I went with 30 kilometres as I figured a kilometre a day is achievable. If you are not a swimmer you can make your distance much smaller. The choice is yours!
In March you just keep swimming! Log your laps on the Laps for Life website and achieve your goal!
How to donate
Please help me raise money for suicide prevention and help more young Aussies be happy and well. Any donation big or small I would be forever grateful for.
You can donate here and you will be helping ReachOut achieve its mission of ensuring that all young people have the support they need to be happy and well.

There continues to be much stigma around mental health which is why I wish we could even more conversations about it. Thank you for what you are doing. I wish you well.
Thank you for linking up for Life This Week. Next week’s optional prompt is Taking Stock. Using words of your own or ones from other bloggers as prompts is cool. Hope to see you there: 2 March 2020. Denyse.
