We love camping, exploring new locations, getting out in the bush and enjoying nature. Over the years I have discovered a few products that make camping life a little easier.
Laundry Basket – Lets face it clothes can get pretty dirty while you are camping, especially when you have children. I hate mixing dirty clothes with your clean ones so I use a collapsible laundry basket. It is large so it fits everyone’s dirty clothes. When you get home you just just put the basket in the laundry and you are ready to get washing!
Pantry – We always kept our food in a plastic tub outside of our tent and never had a problem. However last time we camped at Sandy Cape we had a pesky little fox that kept getting into our food during the night. After that trip I got a pantry which is great for storing your food and keeping the animals away from your food.
No Peg Clothes Line – There are always bathers that need to be hung out to dry. I love the clothes lines where you don’t need pegs, it just means one less thing to pack. The clothes line is twisted and it grips onto your clothes to keep them hanging on the line.
Solar Shower – Kids can get pretty grotty crawling in the dirt and if you don’t have the facilities to wash a solar shower is great. Simply fill the solar shower with water, leave it in the sun and let mother nature warm your water. Just be careful of the temperature as they can get pretty hot if you leave them in the sun for too long.
Headlamp – When the kids were real young I found a headlamp great for changing nappies or giving a feed in the middle of the night. It is so much easier with a headlamp so you an find what you need in the dark and have the use of both hands. I use one all the time now!
Camps Australia Wide – This book is wonderful if you are travelling around Australia as it lists all the free camping spots and low cost sites. We often use our book to picked out a camp site as it has over 3900 listings, including rest areas. You can’t go wrong with Camps Australia Wide.
Do you have an essential items when you go camping? I would love to hear about them.
