The children were playing happily so I snuck on the computer to check my emails. Sitting in my inbox was an email to say that one of my readers had nominated Let Me Be Free for the Travel Blog Awards held by Mr Promocode. I was blown away to discover that some thought my content was worthy of a nomination.
To tell you the truth I often feel like a bit of a fraud in the blogging world. I don’t have a fancy site or my own domain name. I don’t spend money on my blog I just happily write about our adventures and what I have learnt along the way.
If you are new to this blog let me tell you a bit about myself. For many years I travelled around the world on a working holiday and did various jobs such as a nanny, receptionist at a hotel, barmaid and swimming instructor at a summer camp. When I returned to Australia I worked in the travel industry, negotiated hotel rates in Asia and wrote travel brochures. I was wined and dined, stayed in fancy hotels, given complimentary spa treatments and other perks (sounds much more glamorous than it was).
Now a stay at home mum I am exploring more of Australia with my partner Dixie and our two children JJ and Master B. We often pack up the camper trailer and explore a new destination, mainly in Western Australia.
I really love having a bit of me out there on the internet. Plus I need this blog to keep me in a good head space while I stay at home and raise my children.
Anyway enough rambling, this is what Mr Promocode had to say about me and my blog.
Anne is the brains behind the Let Me Be Free blog and it is absolutely full of her adventures travelling and generally living the life that she wants. With inspiring content and photos of the places she has been and the things she has done, it’s no surprise that we’re nominating Anne.
Let Me Be Free is up against some amazing blogs so I don’t expect to win. Just happy that my little blog has been recognised.
