Planning a trip this summer and want to keep the children occupied? Get them to document their adventures in this beautiful travel journal from Travelling with Kids. They will have long lasting memories of their summer holidays for years to come.
The first travel journal I kept was in the late 80’s when I went to Darwin with my family. To this day I still write in a journal when I travel and my daughter is right beside me documenting her day.
The travel journal has 80 pages where the kids can draw, add photos, write and document their daily experiences. The journal also has activity sheets to keep the little ones busy, a packing list, address book and it is spiral bound with a protective plastic sleeve.
If you are heading off on a trip with your kids why not pick up this travel journal from Travelling with Kids so you have a gorgeous journal to look back on in years to come.
The Travel Journal retails for $26.95 and their website can be here.

My family and I are moving for 2 years from the 12th of January. A huge leap from Sunny QLD to TAS! It’s so exciting, I hadn’t heard of a travel journal until now for kids, this would be amazing for my daughter, she’s into drawing and it’d give her something to do on those boring travelling days.

What a fantastic holiday idea, even when not travelling, just documenting the school holidays. Good value too for 80 pages worth 🙂

Love this. We made our own for our trip on the Indian Pacific when we moved from NSW to Perth 8 years ago. This is so much better. I would love to win this for my girls because it might actually mean we start planning our next holiday. I really need a holiday right now.

We have a big trip in April, it would be great for the youngest to track the trip for her own keepsake – not to mention keeping her busy on the planes and trains…

I’ve been journaling our travel adventures with my children from an early age and they love now reading through their journals o be reminded of precious travel and family memories.
I’d love to give this journal to my young niece for her upcoming Christmas holiday.

Love this for my preshooler. This will encourage him to write and think creatively. I used to have a journel back in high school which I still re-read. A practical gift.

What a wonderful idea. I know who I’d give it to as a friend has a daughter who struggles a little with writing and this would be her own ‘safe place’ to write about her experiences.

I always keep a travel journal too. I love looking back over them, as there’s always little details that you’d otherwise forgotten. What a wonderful skill to pass on to children 🙂 #TeamLovinLife

This is a great idea!
I used to to use travel journals on my big winding trips. My first was to the USA when I was 21. I was gone for almost 6 months. My second journal was when I travelled with my boyfriend (now husband) and parents across the USA for 4 weeks. We drove from San Fran to Pennsylvania. We stopped in really out of the way “blink and you’d miss it” places. Without my journal I wouldn’t remember half the places we visited.
Since then I’ve never kept a journal. Our trips are so fixed I guess. Structured. And I suppose now that I blog about all my travels I’ve got the journal on the interwebs instead. I tried to get the kids to write journals but when on holidays they just don’t seem interested in doing anything that seems like homework. I guess they’re just not writers like me. Maybe if they’d had a journal like this one they may have!
It’s such a great idea.

What a brilliant idea! I wrote my first journal when I was 10 and went on an exchange to France! I think my little god-daughter would love this – with her parents hailing from England, Albania and her grandparents living in Spain, Barbados and Albania, I think this would be the perfect way to document her travels!

We have only recently started exploring and travelling as a family. The kids love it but I would love for them to have a place they can write the highlights and low-lights of every experience for them to look back on.

This looks awesome! My son would love it. He is 8 and I just got his end of year report… He really needs to practise his writing and get into it more but he doesn’t enjoy structured class room writing tasks. He is such a creative little boy and journaling would so much more beneficial for developing his writing skills. Plus we go travelling in the new year while on School holidays 🙂

What a great idea! My son turns five this week and starts prep next year (OMG)! He would not only love this so he can document our camping holiday to Stradbroke Island in January but I reckon it’d be a really good tool to start getting him into the habit of recording his experiences, getting him writing and drawing more, in preparation for big school next year.

Such a great idea to have a travel journal and this one looks like a winner! When kids took leave from schools ( to go on extended holidays such as OS), as principal I would recommend they keep a journal as both a writing and reading activity. This goes that one step further! Thanks for linking up today #lifethisweek Denyse

A travel journal is a great thing for kids to do when they travel. Mine first did one years and years ago, 1986, when we took our boys up to Broome on our long 2 month tip. Now our grandsons are writing journals when they travel. Over summer they are heading from our home on the west coast, across the Nullabor to Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne to visit friends on the school holidays. We’ve put together a “travel pack” of various things they can do in the car. A travel journal would be a great addition.
Happy travels!
