Billy Goat Bay is a pristine beach with white sand and crystal clear blue water. We visited the bay during the school holidays and I was stunned that we were the only ones on the beach, there was not another sole in site.

The bay curves for about a kilometre with views of Lipfert Island and Orton Rock. The water was very calm and there is a shallow reef which looks perfect for snorkelling.

On the road into the camp ground we spotted a bobtail and stopped to show the children. Lets say he was a little camera shy as he kept trying to bite the camera.

Location

Billy Goat Bay is located just north of the small coastal town of Greenhead which is 253 kilometers north of Perth. Billy Goat Bay Road is a gravel road which comes off Greenhead Road. The road takes you to the bay plus you can also access another beach called Point Louise.

Campsites

The camp ground is in the process of getting an upgrade and is due to be finished by the end of October 2016. The current camp ground is basically a large rectangular car park with 2 long drop toilets. This area will be closed to camping as they are adding 35 new sites.

The new camp sites are situated around the bay. There are several nodes which has an open area to set up your temporary home. Two new long drop toilets are added to this camp area.
