Camping products that make life easier

We love camping, exploring new locations, getting out in the bush and enjoying nature. Over the years I have discovered a few products that make camping life a little easier.

CAMPING PRODUCTS THAT MAKES LIFE EASIER

Laundry Basket

Laundry Basket – Let’s face it clothes can get pretty dirty while you are camping, especially when you have children. I hate mixing dirty clothes with your clean ones so I use a collapsible laundry basket. It is large so it fits everyone’s dirty clothes. When you get home just put the basket in the laundry and you are ready to get washing!

Pantry

Pantry – We always kept our food in a plastic tub outside of our tent and never had a problem. However last time we camped at Sandy Cape we had a pesky little fox that kept getting into our food during the night. After that trip, I got a pantry which is great for storing our food and keeping the animals away.

Clothes line

No Peg Clothes Line – There are always bathers that need to be hung out to dry. I love the clotheslines where you don’t need pegs, it just means one less thing to pack. The clothesline is twisted and it grips onto your clothes to keep them hanging on the line.

Solar ShowerSolar Shower – Kids can get pretty grotty crawling in the dirt and if you don’t have the facilities to wash a solar shower is great. Simply fill the solar shower with water, leave it in the sun and let mother nature warm your water. Just be careful of the temperature as they can get pretty hot if you leave them in the sun for too long.

HeadlampHeadlamp – When the kids were really young I found a headlamp great for changing nappies or giving a feed in the middle of the night. It is so much easier with a headlamp so you can find what you need in the dark and have the use of both hands. I use one all the time now!

Camps Australia

Camps Australia Wide – This book is wonderful if you are travelling around Australia as it lists all the free camping spots and low-cost sites. We often use our book to pick out a campsite as it has over 3900 listings, including rest areas. You can’t go wrong with Camps Australia Wide.

Do you have an essential item when you go camping? I would love to hear about them.

  1. Agree with all of these, especially with the pegless washing line, a total must have and I just bought a foldable table with a pantry type, storage compartment underneath. I would add solar lights to the list or the rechargeable LED lights. I keep buying new headlamps because mine never seem to last very long.

  2. I like the sound of the laundry basked. Headlamps are great for not tripping around at night. A grate to put over the fire to cook on is always handy as is comfy chairs and of course lots of good food and drink!

  3. This is really fascinating! I love to see how people of other countries go camping. I grew up spending a lot of time outside and I used to think, “Back in the day, people just lived outside and camping was just normal life.” So, I love seeing how the activity has evolved with time around the planet. Really great to read these posts! Grateful to have found your work here and happy to NOW be following you. With Joy and Gratitude, Zach from StrengthsLife.com
