So I have a confession to make. I like to knit!! Many people have there own ways to de-stress like yoga, meditation or the new fad of colouring in. For me I can’t really get into these activities but knitting helps me relax and I get a finished product at the end.
The most stressful thing about knitting is that you may spend hours making something and then not be real happy with the pattern or the way it looks. These are some of my favourite patterns that have been trialed and tests and are great for camping.

Easy Fingerless Mitts
Easy Fingerless Mitts pattern is perfect for beginners as the gloves are worked until long enough to fit the hand circumference. Then they are sewn together leaving a gap for the thumb.
Cable Headband
I don’t know about you but my hair is often in a mess when I go camping so I just throw on the cable headband and off I go!
Mud Puddles
Mud Puddles is the perfect top to throw over what ever your little one is wearing to keep them warm and ready for the days adventure. This pattern is a little tricky at the start as at one stay you are working with 4 needles for a few rounds but once that part is over it is pretty easy.
Milo Vest
Milo Vest is a simple seamless knit, made using cable needles and it is knitted from the top down. The pattern is available for a newborn to size six. I love these vests as if it is getting a little cool you can just throw them on for an extra bit of warmth.
Reid Hat
Reid Hat is an easy knit that is designed with a seamless, join free circular construction. This pattern also has sizes for newborn to adults.
Aviatrix Hat
Aviatrix Hat is the best fitting baby helmet but it can also be made in larger sizes. It is worked on straight needles and it is a great last minute baby hat pattern as it can whipped up pretty quickly.

You are a clever girl. My Mum taught me to knit when I was little but I never really followed through with it. I can cast on and knit plain and purl but that’s about it.

My mum also taught me when I was little and I was the same I could only do the basics. When I got pregnant with my daughter I decided that I would make a blanket for her and it went from there. Most of it I learnt from good old youtube!

So many lovely knits. Your daughter looks so sweet in mud puddles. I have yet to cast on the milo and I have the pattern. Oh I have to make the fingerless mittens they look so easy and I’d love to make one for a neighbour. It gets very cold here in winter.

Once you make a milo you will get addicted! I have made it so many times and it is usually my gift for a newborn baby.

I wish I could knit. I attempted a scarf with really big needles and fluffy wool, in the one stitch so it was rather forgiving with lack of technique but I need help to finish the thing.

Wow! I think you’re quite talented. I cannot knit nor can I crochet worth a darn I can sew. I love it but its not very portable. I get what you mean about the relaxing though I can enjoy to my heart’s content without a couple of little ones to chase after so I can’t imagine how you find the time to do such lovely work.
